Almost all of the envelopes for our save-the-dates are addressed, thank gawd. I'm not going to show you the save-the-dates because Jamie has a much better camera. We spent last night gluing, stuffing and folding (and drinking beer & eating pizza). I can't wait to get them OUTTA HERE!

Also, check out Jamie's rad brunch decor - as pretty as the food was tasty!

Vintage Weddings: Bridesmaids

Check out Noa's post on vintage bridesmaid dresses. There are some great never-before-seen photos of her wedding! I've been begging her to post the rest!

Bleu Boheme Wedding

Loving this San Diego wedding at the Marston House (love this venue even if they have raised their rates ridiculously!) and my new favorite restaurant (I want to live inside of it forever) Bleu Boheme.

Crafty Christmas

{source...this picture just makes me happy}

For weeks I have been talking and thinking about aaaaall the wedding projects that I was going to accomplish of the holiday break. Yeah, well, guess what...big shocker to me...the holiday break starts NEXT.WEEK. I am so not even ready.

Here's the to-do list (for now):
  • Save-the-dates need to be in my hot little hand, addressed, stamped and out the door on Jan 4th-ish*
  • Start sewing my invite stuff (you'll see)
  • Get sewing machine to sew said invites
  • Millions and millions of feet of garlands that look a little like this
  • Table #s
*This morning we met with Jamie re: save-the-dates and I can't stop thinking about them. They are pure amazingness. But really are we surprised when her invites looked like this? After the folding party in a couple of weeks we'll be able to take pictures and show you.

Initial Purchase

I have been on the hunt for initials of some sort to have in the house and display somewhere at the wedding. Vintage, metal, wood, whatever. They are tricky little buddies to track down. I could never find the right letters or they were too expensive. I tried EBay, etsy, everything. Finally, today I came across these letters from Urban Outfitters for...$8/each! I'm so excited...too bad they're backordered until March! My initial placement options for our names was either WE or...EW. Guess which one I'm choosing.

This is probably one of the most beautiful weddings I have come across. Dancing all night long, sunrise ceremony and color, color, color!

Sharing Stuff

I know I post a lot of wedding porn here but typically I only share the pretty stuff with my husband-to-be when I want to know how he feels about incorporating a detail or two into the planning. Most of the time the stuff I share with him is about the bigger questions and what happens after the wedding day. AND more often than not those posts come from a single source - the most practical of them all. I sent this post to him right away because I too think that some sort of pre-marital conversation needs to occur before anything becomes official. Even if things are all hunky-dory and roses there are just some questions that I would never think to ask him, nevermind ask myself, that a professional could bring to the table. I thought the points that Meg made were really important and should be things all engaged couples at least think about if not talk about.

Little Wild Ones

There aren't going to be any kiddies in our wedding party but oh how I wish there could be a little wild thing or two.

Thigpen

I'm a dummy and didn't look at the date. I guess this already happened even though I can't find it!

I can't wait to see the rest of this Joy Thigpen shoot. I love her headband and curls.

Puppy Love

Flutter Glass Photography shot another adorable wedding. Francine and Roberto shared their intimate vows beachside with their best friends - the pups!

Wild Child Party

This is my kind of party...whiskey, feathers and teepees.

This past weekend I went on my first Vegas trip. It was a little too cold to get into too much trouble but we still managed to have an amazing time. I was also pretty happy to finally be able to try on some Saja dresses while I was there (no one in San Diego carries this line yet). I had made an appointment at Bella Bridesmaid and was so thrilled with my time there. Not a scary wedding dress experience at all. This is actually my 2nd dress trying on experience. I didn't talk about my first one, not because I had a bad time, but I just knew nothing could come out of it. I had gone with a friend who is also getting married and who wanted to check out the new San Diego boutique - The White Flower. The selection of dresses is wonderful but all just a little out of my price range. There were a range of unique designers - like my favorite Lea-Ann Belter - and gorgeous, gorgeous gowns. I even had that moment I didn't think I was capable of having where I looked at myself in the mirror and got all bride-y thinking "this is the one". Expensive lace and silk will do that to you, I suppose. If you are in the San Diego area and what to see dresses you probably won't find anywhere else then I say give The White Flower a visit.

But back to Bella -
I found three dresses that I liked and loved and, surprisingly, none of them are Saja even though that's what I went there to find. The Saja dresses were all so sweet and seriously the lightest and most comfortable dresses I have ever worn but just barely didn't make the cut. I was thrilled that in the collection at Bella were also a couple Jenny Yoo and Alix & Kelly dresses.
The Jenny Yoo dress is a version of another dress that I had been eyeing ever since I saw Emily wear it at the wedding I went to with Feather Love this past summer. It is so far my favorite and in my budget (yay!).
My friends, however, really are rooting for Kate. It is very ooh la la but maybe a little too "huggy" on my behind and belly (granted I had tried to eat $20 worth of bacon at a buffet that morning). I would have to wear triple spanks (Kristina of A Lovely Morning looked phenomenal in a similar dress and actually recommends this for underneath) and I don't want to worry about not being able to eat more than my share of cake.
Another Alix & Kelly dress - Sophia - made it into the top three because my boobs looked pretty happy.

Las Vegas ladies - go see Jamie. She is super sweet and not at all pushy and knows her sh*t. I adore her and her cute boutique (The Cupcakery being close by doesn't hurt either).

And if you are thinking of going the J Crew route go to Alix & Kelly or Saja or Jenny Yoo first. They are all in a similar price range (some even cheaper) and feel and look way more luxurious (to me anyway).

And here is a sneak peek of me in the dresses. The Jenny Yoo dress is the bridesmaid version in gray.

Lo & Behold

Lo Boheme is having a trunk sale this weekend at Bar Pink! Lo made the drool-worthy veil that Erin wore. Be there this Sunday, December 13th from 5:30-10pm!

Feather Love Lurv

Not like any of us are surprised that Feather Love's shoots are stellar but I mean these past two are just BEYOND. I think it's a combo of Noa being an insanely phenomenal artist and her clients being a perfect match for her. Thank goodness for outside-the-box engagement shoots. I really, really hope you are shooting both these weddings, Noa, because I can't wait to see them!

Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly

I love this wedding by Carter & Cook. Yes, the anthropologie theme is everywhere these days but this decor is subtle and sweet and not in your face eclectic.

I might steal this idea.

and this one (throwing lavender).

Small Stump Save-the-dates

These save-the-dates are amazing and it kind of isn't fair. Collecting 150 teeny tiny bottles isn't in my budget or sanity but, man, I wish it was.

Simple, Sweet and Seven Months Away

So today marks the seven month countdown and my sleepless night last night proves it. There are a whole lot of things left to do. This simple and sweet wedding shot by Mint Photography made me feel a little better though. I love the flowers in brown paper and the not-too-fussy bouquets.

The invited were done by one of my most favorite design studios - Follow Studio.
