Real Wedding: Pam and Shane

I was facebook stalking my friends the other day and came across these AMAZING photos from my college friend's wedding at the Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens. I asked her if I could post a few pictures and I am so happy she said yes! Bright, bold colors and an armadillo cake make this wedding truly original and spectacular! And everyone looks like they are having a total blast!

Bird and Banner

These invitations by Bird and Banner are pretty high up there in the favorite paper product department. I was hoping I could work my magic and create something similar but McG is anti-frills and all-around girliness. This may be a point of contention between us once the planning begins.

Pretty much everything Bird and Banner does is phenomenal. Maybe these would be more up McG's alley.

Inspiration Board: Heidz Beach Wedding

This board is for Heidz who commented "Oh wow I hope I'm not too late! I would love an inspiration board but can never make one because I'm computer challenged :) Our wedding is going to be an intimate beach ceremony and our colors are a deep marine blue, white, baby blue and pops of chartreuse/moss green".

I really love how this board turned out. It is very classic and reminds me of my New England beaches that I miss so much.

Inspiration Board: Courtney's Summer Camp Wedding

This board is for Courtney:

"I'd love an inspiration board! We're getting married at a summer camp in NH in September. My dress is cream and vintage. We've chosen purple as the color to go with for flowers, decorations, dresses to accent the brown and green of the camp - trees and wood cabins, plus white with candles, white lights... Thanks for considering it! x"

My 2nd choice venue would be a summer camp and New Hampshire is close to my folks so I'm really excited to see how her wedding turns out!

Storybook Weddings

I'm a big book nerd. I don't actually ever get to read half the books that I buy but I love to look at them. I have stacks and stacks of books all over the house. So I'm definitely in love with the book centerpiece trend I've seen around town lately. And it is totally DIY-able!

Hello Love Birds! Contest

This is an amazing opportunity for a SoCal engaged couple. One of my favorite people and photographers, Noa at Feather Love Weddings, is giving away an engagement photo session on her blog. I wanted to keep this to myself so I had a better chance of winning but I love you guys and had to share!

Here are the specifics:

1) You need to be engaged to get married and have a set date in 2009 or 2010.

2) I am looking for unique, super-stylish, vintage-loving, hippie, hipster, indie, music/fashion-lovers or other alternative and artsy-type couples, musicians, artist, painters, poets etc. A certain style or “look” is what I am searching for. Are you that couple? (Ed note: Too bad you're already married esb!)

3) You must be willing to shoot the session in the San Diego area.

If this applies to you, then please send me:

• a basic photo of the two of you, it should be simple but should should give me a good idea of your style or “look”…. feel free to send more than one photo but no more than 5 please.

• please include this info: your names, engagement date and wedding date (and location if possible).

Please visit Noa's blog for more details!

Good luck pretties!

XOXO

Have a great weekend everyone. I am so tired and still have to work tonight! Yuck. I hope you get to spend tomorrow with the ones you love. XOXO.

Inspiration Board: sjhouser's Nebraska wedding

Sjhouser commented "oh oh...I want one!!! Lets see...colors: purple-plum, a grass green and grey (well thats what I'm thinking anyways). Our venue is outside in the country of Nebraska so I'm kinda thinking a country/backyard relaxed/fun theme. If you go to my blog you'll see more pics and my first insp. board! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!" Here is her plum, green, grey outdoor Nebraska wedding board!

Big and Beautiful

I love the combination of all these dresses especially in such a big group. The contrast of the MOH is really delicious with the sorbet tones.

Inspiration Board for Kristy and Lil' Joe

This board is very special for me and, therefore, very tough to do. It is for one of my closest friends, Kristy, who said: "i know you're gonna get bombarded with this offer, BUT i would L-O-V-E an inspiration board...for me & lil joe :) his fave color is green, my faves are pinks and blues..."

Kristy and lil' Joe are always in my thoughts and I wish them both the best luck on their new journey!

Kate's Pool Party Birthday Board

I am SO excited to get started on all these inspiration boards. (If you would like one leave a comment here.)

My first board is for Kate who said: "I'd like a board for a fun pool party with aqua, raspberry pink and yellow as the colors. It would be for my daughter's birthday, but you could do it for adults, so it would be more relevant for most of your readers. I can tell you that my inspiration for the party so far has been a darling goldfish thank you card in the SimpleSong etsy store. So cute!" I actually don't think Kate needs any help in the inspiration department since I actually pulled one of the images from her blog!

Top Row: Amy Atlas, Simple Song, Darling Dexter, Snippet & Ink

2nd Row: Kids and Cocktails, Tea & Whimsy, Ferardandy, MS

3rd Row: Hostess with the Mostess, MSWeddings, Tastefully Entertaining, Ferardandy

Bottom Row: MS, Cupcakes Nouveau, forget!, Hostess with the Mostess

Sponsor Post: The Peach

You may have noticed the cute as a button button on the left hand column over there. Let me introduce you to our new sponsor - The Peach. I am really excited to have The Peach handy and I know you guys are going to flip over the adorable stuff in this shop. From pin-up girl cupcake toppers to handmade bags. Everything is super cute and super affordable. I'm pretty much obsessed with The Peach and I check out what's new on a daily basis. I want to throw McG a retro prom party and I know JUST the place to get the muscle man cake topper I have been looking for!

You're the Inspiration

I don't know if you know this about me but I like to make inspiration boards (What! You're kidding!). Like a lot. I make them for my friends, for myself and I really want to make one for you! If you want an inspiration board let me know in the comments with any details (colors, theme, quote) you think is helpful and I'll send one your way! MWAH!

Oh, Rita!

I was perfectly happy with my little backyard shindig until this weekend. We watched Gilda with the impossibly sexy and stunning Rita Hayworth and she changed everything with just one dress. Now I want a satin, curve choking number with long white gloves and GLAM GLAM GLAM! Old Hollywood would make sense since McG does is a (struggling) screenwriter and we do love a good noir.

I'm not sure how my hips (and my wallet) would feel about these dresses but, boy, do I love them!

And it wouldn't be a party without a board:

Ashley's In-N-Out Wedding Trailer

A little while ago I mentioned McG's desire for an In-N-Out trailer. I was on board with the idea already but Ashley (of Ashley Rose Photography) sold me with the photos she sent my way from her own wedding. Thanks, Ashley! These are gorgeous!

"What the heck is In-N-Out?" I know, I asked the same thing before I moved to California. In-N-Out is basically a burger joint but they use only fresh, high quality ingredients. Plus they have a fun ordering system that you can only learn by word of mouth. For instance, I do not eat meat so going to In-N-Out was never much fun for me until someone told me to order the Grilled Cheese. Grilled cheese is not on the menu but, sure enough, when I placed my order no one looked at me like I was a crazy person and I got a cheeseburger-like sandwich sans burger. It is delicious!

Party Board: Spring Baby!

Ok, so I've done royal blue with fuschia and poppy red with aqua but today my new favorite duo is aqua and fuschia! Sweet, playful and romantic. You just can't get any better than that.

Blogger Favorite: Moi

Well, no one asked me what my favorite wedding is so I'm just going to butt in and tell you! It is pretty difficult to pick just one wedding as I have a new favorite every week. You see, I have a lot of favorites for a lot of different reasons. If this was "What Wedding Most Inspires You?" it would be a backyard wedding hands down. Since I'm making up the rules to my own game today this will be "My Favorite Wedding to Look At!"

This was probably the first wedding I saw that I was like "Hell to the yes that is what I want it to feel like, look like, be like!" Good party, good friends, good food, good times. Oh and a whole lotta smooching. I'm going to bombard you with photos now. K, thanks, byeee!
