Even though I plan and coordinate events for other people, and I understand how incredibly important a coordinator, especially on the day of, can be for a couple, I really thought that I could handle my wedding all by my little lonesome. Well, now I'm started to realize that I am a fool through and through. I don't want to worry about lighting 150 candles or keeping the booze full and I don't want my friends to have to worry about it either. Like one of my warriors said - "I am all yours and will do anything you want until the ceremony is over but after that game over. I'll be hitting the cocktails and the dance floor." A men. I am right there with ya. But now, of course, the funds are feeling a wee bit sad and there isn't a whole lot more room for any new expenses. Does anyone know of a budding coordinator in Massachusetts who wants to gain some experience and be a part of the most kick-ass wedding extravaganza EVER???

Ooh, you're in Massachusetts too? If you find someone please blog about it because I'm interested too! Someone recommended these two to me. If you do contact them I'd be dying to know how it goes!

hey girl!! you will be soooo happy that you have a coordinator! maybe tweet about it or post on craigslist. someone that is starting out will jump at the chance for pennies. good luck!
Definitely get a coordinator! I did my day all on my own - the music stuffed up, the reception lost it's structure half way through, and no one used the photo booth as much as I would have liked. It's not worth the stress!
So, I have to say, this is my only wedding regret. I do DOC and design work for events and decided NOT to spend money on a coordinator. Worst mistake I made. I ended up running around stressed out, which I really didn't want...it all worked out just fine, but I wish I had just hired someone.
When's your wedding date again? And where in MA are you? Email me. Maybe we can work something out.
I put an ad on Weddingbee.com in the classified section and got a few promising responses for day-of-coordinators for cheap.
I ended up hiring a girl I met via the knot.com message board for my state/city... someone else knew her and suggested her name. Maybe you could try one of those websites?
