Ruby Feather

I'm taking a cue from $10,000 and getting read to make some bouts! And I'm not talking roller derby. So far I have purchased some French chicken feathers (they're gorgeous, I swear) and some pearly leaves. I know I have a lot of time to start projects but I'm really excited to start this one (especially since I'm not using real flowers and nothing will die). I just need to find some more sprigs of silk flowers (any suggestions?). I had an idea in my head of what I wanted them to look like and then I saw these beauts from Ruby Feather. They are exactly what I had in mind!

Anyone else make their own bouts?

I sure did! Cost me about 12 cents, no joke. Made 'em out of scraps and bits I had lying around and they turned out super cute... maybe a little traditional, but still... I found it REALLY hard to find trimmings, feathers, etc. here up North (city of a frickin' MILLION people nearby but NOTHING!) and though I could find things online, the shipping was more than prohibitive... Where'd you find your bits?
