Does anyone have any ideas for a creative processional? The thought of making our girl friends walk arm in arm with our guy friends makes me gag.
UPDATE: Thank you all for your advice and suggestions. We have decided just to have all the dudes standing up with the mister and just the ladies will walk down the aisle. Still somewhat traditional but not as awkward as some other processionals I have seen.

You could always have them go single file. I thought about this as a option... not sure what I'll do yet.

I had a crazy idea of making somekind of megamix matching each person as they walked down...haha that was ditched when I realised there was zero time left to organise it.

Have your bridal party walk family members out instead of each other? Like have the best man and maid of honor grab parents, next in line grabs offers a hand/arm to grandparents.

Or give them all kazoos and have them play you out, haha.

hmm, mine isn't very creative but here in New Zealand the bridesmaids dont generally walk in on the groomsmen's arms. The groom and his men are there when the guests arrive and they wait at the front, then the BMs walk in by themselves followed by the bride. P

Really cute and fun entrance! Of course, you'd need to have friends willing to do this and guests who wouldn't sit like stumps and become offended...

I share the gag factor. But the only thing I can think of is that they walk down the aisle together without walking arm in arm. Just next to one another.

Just curious...what is the gag inducing factor about the guys walking in with the women? I've always preferred this processional and didn't realize people had a problem with it.

Ms. Bunny - 1) I think it always looks awkward to pair up couples who aren't really couples and 2) I don't like the "message" that pairing up boy/girl puts out there (basically saying that THAT is the way people are supposed to be matched up as opposed to girl/girl, boy/boy, etc.). It's totally fine if it's something you like. It's just not for me.

I deleted Anna's comment by accident! Here it is:

"Gag indeed.

I'm not sure what to do. I'm hoping my boys don't need a processional.

Please no dancing either!

Wow, I'm really helpful!"

I think that's my problem as well. Why girls not allowed to walk alone?

P.S. Do not fret about the deleting!
