Sarah of Saipua has recently turned me into an anemone and ranunculus convert. And it's not just because ranunculus is, like, THE most fun word to say ever. I have been a die-hard lily and orchid fan for probably my entire life. Growing up, every summer would bring bunches and bunches of tiger lilies to my mother's gardens. I have always hated roses and their selfish imposition onto the floral world. Then I saw those sweet, sweet anemones and I fell in love with their delicacy, friskiness and expressiveness. Yes, I just called a flower frisky. I'll call it flirty too. They're like long, dark eyelashes batting playfully over some baby blues. Ok, I'll stop talking dirty and get to the good stuff.

I think anemones might be my wedding flower backup since dahlias are out of season. I've been thinking the punch of black might be too much, but they're so great.
Beautiful flowers!!! I can't say either of those words.
Aren't they lovely? The top left all-white bouquet is my favorite. Just perfect...
Oh, I love those flowers too! Anemones are close to poppies, which would be my first choice, but are not hardy enough...
I love love LOVE them. They are what made me consider a black and white wedding :)
Gasp... that's exactly what I would've ordered had I know that they existed and what they were called!
Two of my favorites, both out of my wedding season... lucky me :)
What a lovely blog! And I am glad you liked my bouquet, thanks for including me :) Anemones are one of my all time faves. The black center ones are great for an eco-chic look, or black/white french vintage glam look, and the light center ones more amenable to a romantic look. Lovely! ~jessy fleurs nyc
What a lovely blog, I am delighted that my bouquet is included in this post! Anemones are one of my fave flowers. The black and white ones are perfect for an eco-chic wedding, or a black/white french vintage glam affair, while the light centered ones are romantic and more delicate.
I LOVE anemones also - I wish they were in season when I got married!!
My wedding bouquet was black and white anemones. Your blog is great by the way!
