{all photos by point.click.enjoy}

I was chatting with my baker/blogger friend Marisa today. She is the talent behind Sweet n' Flour - a mouth-watering bakery in Florida. She sent me some photos of a recent wedding she baked for and I fell in love with everything so much I had to share. I know this is not your typical, perfectly-executed wedding where everything looks couture from the chairs to the napkin rings. It is not in a backyard or at a resort or winery. This is a real-effing-wedding* with a few pretty details, a couple DIY projects and a lot of heart.

{love the bathroom}

{bamboo utensils!}

{Marisa's cakes and cupcakes!}

{my favorite photo...more photos here}

*Not to say that those picture perfect weddings are not real in any way. This one just seems a little more accessible for some folks (including myself).

Have you seen this wedding? Gah!

First of all that magnificent dessert creation. Truffles on cake on cake on cake.

And what does the groom wear if you wear a short dress? Short pants, of course!

Sarah & Rupert Wedding 16mm Film from sarahandrupert on Vimeo.

I don't know about you but I kind of want my DIY wedding to look a little...ya know...DIY. OH and it will, I'm sure.
Still props to this girl for having the skills to put Martha to shame. Also, I luff this video. My friends dance like that too...but with more leg humping and booty shaking.

Way to Go, Martha

I was planning on posting about the rad table design in this wedding from Martha Stewart but when I read that some people who were so offended by it that they felt the need to take the time out of their day to actually write to the magazine to express their disapproval I thought I should also acknowledge the significance of this particular wedding. I am thrilled about the first same-sex wedding in Martha so maybe I should write a letter to show my approval and my hope that there will be nothing but more diversity in issues to come. At least to counterbalance the folks who are obviously all in a tizzy about it. Now about those tables...

Stripes & Sparkles

From the dress & bowtie

to the escort board & table runners

I love these stripes!

And the hottest wedding party. Wish I had told my friends just to go on with their stylish selves. Ah well.

Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly

I love this wedding by Carter & Cook. Yes, the anthropologie theme is everywhere these days but this decor is subtle and sweet and not in your face eclectic.

I might steal this idea.

and this one (throwing lavender).

Simple, Sweet and Seven Months Away

So today marks the seven month countdown and my sleepless night last night proves it. There are a whole lot of things left to do. This simple and sweet wedding shot by Mint Photography made me feel a little better though. I love the flowers in brown paper and the not-too-fussy bouquets.

The invited were done by one of my most favorite design studios - Follow Studio.

Real Wedding: Erin and Chuck

I just can't stop looking at all of Corbin Gurkin's photos. I swear this is my favorite wedding ever and not just because of all the sweat and tears (I promise there was no sweat and tears in the cupcakes) that went into it. The whole thing was spectacular to look at and everyone had a great time (thank you, love bucket brew!). Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day. Check out more on Erin's blog, Corbin's blog, and ONCE WED (yay!).

Do you see the little heart in Erin's hair?! So sweet. Her sister, hair stylist extraordinaire, did a great job! Also, the look of love on Chuck's face as he gazes at his bride-to-be brings tears to my eyes.

It was a good day! Donuts and Love Bucket Brew always help! :)

Oh. And Best.Kiss.Ever.

There were SO many amazing, sweet, and talented vendors that made that day happen. I just have to give a shout out.

Venue: Dana-Powers House (This place is beyond gorgeous and Judi is a saint!)

Bouquets and boutonnieres: Amy Osaba

Driftwood Archway and aisle petal circles: Adornment Florals (I LOVE Laurel!)

Caterer: McGee's Catering (mac n' cheese to die for)

Cupcakes and Coordination: ME! Sweet Emilia Jane

Band: Steppin' Feet (They were SO good...and I have to say I overheard a couple female guests wishing that they had played a little longer.)

Hair: Megan Wayt

Makeup: Nyrie Makeup & Hair

Veil: Lo Boheme (this veil was fierce...the pictures DO NOT do it justice)

Invitations: Why, Miss Erin herself - Haute Off the Press

Photography: Corbin Corbin Corbin! (so talented and SO nice. I hope to work with her again!)

Charmed, I'm Sure

I have been following C is for...Charmed for a long time. I love her whimsical, romantic posts and her wedding definitely did not disappoint in the whimsy and romance categories. With a 6 hour gap between the ceremony (in a greenhouse!) and reception, the couple had time to hang out with each other and really reflect on the vows they had recited. I love that they trotted through a street fair and ate some hot dogs!

And here is some practical advice from the bride: "...it's just one of those really amazing days in your life that shouldn't be clouded with wedding dresses and sit down dinners and perfection - it should be about the two of you."

Oh, but what a f*ing gorgeous wedding dress it is!

{photos by aaron ingrao - they found him on craigslist!*}

*UPDATE: Chris and her husband did all the editing and processing on their pictures. Just divine! Is there nothing this girl can't do??? Check out here invites as well.

I don't know Lorien and Jessica but, nevertheless, I was in tears by the time the credits rolled around.

A Couple of Cuties: Joanna & Alex

I adore Joanna. We have never met in person but have shared emails and comments on each others blogs. She just seems so sweet and sincere. She looks so happy in the photos from her wedding to the adorable, bearded Alex and I am so happy for her!

Colorful Fiesta

I have A LOT of wedding blogs on my google reader. Too many, probably. And after looking at weddings for 10 months now they all kind of blend together and start to look alike. There really hasn't been anything new in awhile. It's all been mason jars and lace. Which is fine and great and what I'll probably stick with too but it's always fun when something unique really pops out at you. I love the GINORMOUS flowers and mismatched mexican dresses. So fun and vibrant!
