The Latest and Greatest?

Thank you to everyone who said howdy the other day. I had so much fun checking out your blogs!

So I talked to my mom the other day about, what else, wedding stuff. Remember how I wasn't planning on making my "wedding warriors" wear specific outfits? Well, scratch that. Mom would think it would be real nice if all my friends had a theme to their dresses since they have been such good friends. And I was like "If I was really a good friend I wouldn't make them do that" but I love my momma so I'll try and meet her half way. Plus Green Wedding Shoes did that whole post on mismatched dresses and I was sold (good timing!). So between pastels and grays, I've come up with grays since, really, we shouldn't risk the "easter egg" effect.

Then the man and his man friends came up with this brilliant idea today - SEERSUCKER SUITS! With hats! And bowties! Really, I don't know how they think this stuff up. I'm working on editing the hats out (I don't know when this became a southern belle wedding) but I've always been a fan of seersucker so I'm in.

So here is a new board...somehow we have gone from GLAM to BOHO to FRENCH PICNIC . What?

Floaty Earthy Beach Board

I know I know. I got a little overwhelmed with the boards. But I couldn't resist doing an "earthy floaty" board for Red Frame!

Spirit Board

I am completely obsessed with the beautiful boards over at Zinke Design. I also seem to be putting feathers into everything I make now so the Frontier Spirit board really called to me.

and here is the board I made today after I saw this -

Inspiration Board: Clare's Simple and Romantic Affair

Clare asked me for an inspiration board to merge her whimsical fantasies with her fiance's more subdued desires. I'm all about the little details and I think a marriage between simple and elegant can totally work. The color choices - black, white and sky blue - already set a clean tone so playing it up with fun details won't look overdone at all. Simple invitations with swooping calligraphy and rows of tea lights paired with stunning chandeliers. Plus he has no say in the fitting room so your dress can be as fancy-schmancy as you want!

Inspiration Board: Heidz Beach Wedding

This board is for Heidz who commented "Oh wow I hope I'm not too late! I would love an inspiration board but can never make one because I'm computer challenged :) Our wedding is going to be an intimate beach ceremony and our colors are a deep marine blue, white, baby blue and pops of chartreuse/moss green".

I really love how this board turned out. It is very classic and reminds me of my New England beaches that I miss so much.

Inspiration Board: Courtney's Summer Camp Wedding

This board is for Courtney:

"I'd love an inspiration board! We're getting married at a summer camp in NH in September. My dress is cream and vintage. We've chosen purple as the color to go with for flowers, decorations, dresses to accent the brown and green of the camp - trees and wood cabins, plus white with candles, white lights... Thanks for considering it! x"

My 2nd choice venue would be a summer camp and New Hampshire is close to my folks so I'm really excited to see how her wedding turns out!

Oh, Rita!

I was perfectly happy with my little backyard shindig until this weekend. We watched Gilda with the impossibly sexy and stunning Rita Hayworth and she changed everything with just one dress. Now I want a satin, curve choking number with long white gloves and GLAM GLAM GLAM! Old Hollywood would make sense since McG does is a (struggling) screenwriter and we do love a good noir.

I'm not sure how my hips (and my wallet) would feel about these dresses but, boy, do I love them!

And it wouldn't be a party without a board:

Party Board: Spring Baby!

Ok, so I've done royal blue with fuschia and poppy red with aqua but today my new favorite duo is aqua and fuschia! Sweet, playful and romantic. You just can't get any better than that.

Party Boards

I've decided to let you all in on the secret (one of them anyway). I really want to share the party boards that I make on my other blog which means letting you know who I am. As long as you promise not to spill the beans I'll post my boards here. I think you'll like them.
